The mission of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.  The Komen Houston Race for the Cure® is the largest footrace in Houston with more than 35,000 participants including 2,000 breast cancer survivors and thousands of volunteers, supporters and onlookers. Through the Race, the Affiliate hopes to raise more than $3.5 million for breast cancer education, screening, treatment and cutting-edge research.  We encourage you to celebrate with us and hope that you continue by our side in our journey to another great year!

The 2011 Komen Houston Race for the Cure® route is predominantly located on the inbound and outbound lanes of Allen Parkway. The Survivor Celebration and Sponsor expo area will still take place in Downtown Sam Houston Park. Arrive Early! Arrive in Downtown Houston by at least 7:00am so you can park and walk to the designated staging area for your event, near the start line before the Opening Ceremonies. Allow ample time for possible traffic delays and parking entrance lines in the area due to the high volume of vehicles headed into downtown.
