Yard Waste Collections Return

The Solid Waste Department resumed regular curbside yard and tree waste collection services on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Yard waste includes trimmings, grass clippings, small branches and leaves. These must be placed in city-approved compostable bags. Tree waste includes “clean” wood waste such as tree limbs, branches and stumps, which may be bundled and/or tied in lengths not greater than 36 inches. Lumber, furniture, and treated wood will not be accepted. Please note that junk waste services remain temporarily suspended as those trucks and crews remain allocated to collecting Harvey storm debris. Check your Solid Waste collection service days »

On the Agenda

Council approved the inclusion of the north side of the 1700 block of Cherryhurst Dr (from Windsor St to Ridgewood St) in the Residential Permit Parking Program. From 10A–10P, parking will be limited to residents of those blocks who purchase a parking permit from the City of Houston. Petitioned for by the Cherryhurst community of Montrose, this program will provide neighbors with protection from overwhelming commuter parking. Neighborhoods interested in applying for similar protections may visit the Administration and Regulatory Affairs (ARA) Department website for more information.
