The Shepherd Forest Civic Club has been making exciting plans for the annual Fall Picnic and we hope you attend and enjoy the fun-filled afternoon. Bring out your family, neighbors, and a lawn chair and help the SFCC celebrate 23 years of neighborhood unity and community involvement. Spend the afternoon visiting with old and new neighbors as you enjoy some great hot dogs and watermelon, face painting, games, a singing cowboy, door prizes and much, much more – all provided free by the Shepherd Forest Civic Club . As always, there will be a fantastic petting zoo (underwritten by Dr. Gleem Car Wash) and Houston Rodeo clowns for all to enjoy.
This year, the first ever Children’s Parade will take place at the picnic at 5pm and we are looking for participants. Don’t miss the opportunity to let your kids shine and take part in the parade. There are no age restrictions, so even if you just “feel like a kid” you can participate! Bring your bike, decorate your trike, grab your stroller and dress the part. You can participate and join us in the short walk or just enjoy watching the parade! Whether the kids are being pushed in a baby buggy, riding in a wagon, riding a tricycle, bicycle, or just walking, we want to see them in the parade. Decorate, dress up, or just show up and watch our kids participate in this good old fashion fun & celebration for all ages. Several area businesses have made generous donations for the picnic, including Dr. Gleem Car Wash, HEB Grocery (West 18th @ TC Jester), and Roznovsky’s Hamburgers. Please patronize these businesses and thank them for their continued support of the SFCC. The annual picnic is one of the biggest events sponsored by your civic club – mark your calendars for Sunday, September 25h!! If you would like to be a sponsor, want to volunteer, or just need more picnic information, call Delinda Holland @ 713-680-3956.
