Budget Vote Delayed
Council discussion and the vote on theupdated proposed City of Houston FY2020 Budget was delayed for two weeks due to an error in the printing of the public notice. Council is now expected to vote on the budget onWednesday, June 19th. FY2020 will begin on July 1, 2019.

Council Meetings are open to the public and include the opportunity for public comment. The meeting will be aired live on HTV and live-streamed online. We will begin at 9AM in Council Chambers at City Hall.
Overlays for Woodhead, Sewanee, and Bradford Sts
On Thursday, June 13th, the Public Works Department will begin an asphalt overlay maintenance project for two locations in District C:
- Woodhead St, from Richmond Ave to Lexington St
- Sewanee St, from Holcombe St south to its terminus; and Bradford St, from Sewanee St east and west to its termini
The asphalt pavement milling work is expected to be complete within approximately two weeks, weather permitting. The department will provide informational door hangers to all adjacent homeowners and a Frequently Asked Questions document is available online.
Westmoreland Triangle Park Open
The newly revitalized Westmoreland Triangle Park is complete and open to the public as of Sunday, June 2nd. Located at the intersection of Hawthorne St and Burlington St, Westmoreland Triangle Park is a small esplanade park within the boundaries of the historicWestmoreland Addition neighborhood inMontrose. Upgrades include landscaping improvements with native species, enhanced walking paths, bird baths and pollinator stations for butterflies, and a Little Free Library. Mayor Pro Tem Cohen was pleased to partner with the Westmoreland Civic Association to provide $5000 in matching funds for these improvements through her Council District Service Fund and the Neighborhood Matching Grants Program.
