The City of Houston will reimburse homeowners for Harvey-related repairs through a program the Housing Department will launch at the end of the year.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will provide the funding for the program and City officials recommend homeowners saving receipts and contracts with repair companies. There will be no limitations related to when the repairs were made.
“The reimbursement program is specifically for folks who’ve already gone out of pocket, maybe gone into debt, pulled down from a 401 K,” said Tom McCasland, director of the Housing Department.
The Housing Department has posted information on the guidelines for reimbursements on its website, both in English and Spanish.
