Houston Observes Veterans’ Day
On Veterans’ Day, we celebrate, honor, and thank all those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Over 300,000 veterans live and work in Harris County, making it home to one of the largest populations of military service members and their families in the nation. On Saturday, November 11th, the City of Houston will host a Job and Resource Fair for military personnel, past and present. The fair will be followed by the Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration. These festivities will take place from 8AM – 12PM at Hermann Square at City Hall.
Please note that, in observance of the holiday, the District C office will be closed on Friday, November 10th.
Reminder: Recycling to Resume Monday
The Solid Waste Department will resume its normal curbside recycling schedulebeginning Monday, November 13th for “B Week” collections and Monday, November 20th for “A Week.” Residents are asked not to place storm debris or glass in their recycling bins. Citywide recycling drop-off locations will continue to operate with extended hours. Please note that heavy trash pickup services remain suspended until further notice as these crews and trucks remain assigned to storm debris pickup.
