In the summer of 2011, Houston experienced its driest year on record and the summer included 46 consecutive days with temperatures of at least 100 degrees.
And while the drought forced the removal of 20,000 trees from Memorial Park, reporter Michael Hagerty explains how it also taught officials an important lesson.
